INTRODUCTION TO DRAWING (ITD)
INTRO
The module is aim to assist students to familiarize the basic representation of the built and natural environment through drawings. It engages students with different techniques of drawing and encourages them to explore different methods of drawing to enable them to utilize it as communication skills in the construction industry. The module will be presented in the form of a studio with lectures, workshops, tutorials, student presentations and class discussion.
MODULE OBJECTIVE
1. To introduce drawing as a communication tool in the construction industry.
2. To introduce different techniques of drawing in the built environment practice.

ASSIGNMENT 1A (GROUP)
Observational Sketches
In this assignment, student are required to form a group with a maximum of 5 group members. Each group were assigned a fruit or vegetable to sketch according to different angle such as top view, front view, back view, side view and section.
Lastly, each groups had to sketch using pencil and felt-tip pen on A4 size paper, then only compose every sketches in 2 A2 size board within the tutorial time.

REFLECTION
In this assignment, i have learnt that observation and sketching techniques are really important pairs in order to come out with a good sketches within a minimum time given. Other than that, i have learnt that line weight and force that we handle the pencil and felt-tip pen are important step for sketching purpose.Â
Besides, i have learnt how to communicate and cooperate among the group members in order to have a good outcome in a shorter time.

Basic Orthographic Drawings
In this assignment, every student remained in the same group as assignment 1A. Each group were required to find a suitable furniture in Taylor's campus and draw it out using orthographic drawing manner according to different angle such as top view, front view, side view, back view and imaginary section.
Lastly, each group had to compose every drawing with suitable scale using felt-tip pen through A2 size board.

REFLECTION
In this assignment, i have learnt about everything in the world is not as simple as we look even though for furniture. Every details for a specific furniture must have meanings on it. Next, i also learnt that choosing a suitable scale is important in orthographic drawing in order to have a nice and appropriate outcome.
Furthermore, i have learnt how to communicate and cooperate with my group members in order to find a suitable furniture for all of us to draw within the deadline given.

ASSIGNMENT 2 (INDIVIDUAL)
Drawing Basic Space
In this assignment, a space in Taylor's campus will be assigned to every student according to the group from assignment 1. Students are required to observe the space given and reproduce the set of drawings of the space such as plan view, elevation view and section including the components and the furniture in that space.Â
Furthermore, every student have to work out together for measurements as the space given is big and there are many furniture in that space. Lastly, students had to compose all drawings in A3 size paper booklet.
Career Lounge in Student Life Center was the space assigned to our group. There are number of furniture such as tables, chairs, desks and sofa in the space given.
We decided to draw in scale 1:25 and drawings below are my final outcome.

In this assignment, i have learnt how to draw a space according to a proper scale and measurements. Measurements are important to avoid error when we started to draw.
Moreover, line weight is an important skill in order to have a clear information for anyone to look through a drawing.

Orthographic Drawing Of A Tiny House
In this assignment, students were required to design a tiny house with the basic layout and scale given by lecturers. The tiny house should consists of basic spaces such as living room, bedroom, kitchen and toilet. Next, students were required to include all the furniture for each space that refer to IKEA furniture's design and dimensions.Moreover, students were required to produce 6 drawings such as floor plan, front elevation, 3 sectional elevations and details drawing.Â
Lastly, students had to compose all drawings using felt-tip pen in 2 A2 size board.
Drawings below are my final outcome with basic spaces such as living room, kitchen, bedroom and 2 toilets with scale 1:50.

REFLECTION
In this assignment, i have learnt how to design a space with a proper layout to produce a satisfied outcome. Next, i also learnt that each basic spaces in a space have their own important role and way to design them.
Furthermore, i also gained my knowledge on line weight and the layout to compose every drawing in A2 size board.
